Welcome! The Circle of Us is a community where women can gather to reconnect with themselves and the timeless wisdom that flows when we come together with open hearts.
If you've found yourself here, you may be sensing a call for deeper connection, authentic community, or simply a place where you can be truly seen and heard. Perhaps you're curious about women's circles but unsure where to begin, or maybe you're already familiar with their transformative power and seeking like-minded sisters to share the journey.
Our community honours the ancient practice of women gathering in circles – a tradition that has nurtured, healed, and empowered women across cultures and generations. In our modern world, where authentic connection can feel rare and precious, we're reclaiming this sacred haven where vulnerability is welcomed, wisdom is shared, and every woman's voice matters.
Whether you're taking your first tentative steps into learning how circles work or you're a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your experience, The Circle of Us offers resources, guidance, and most importantly, community. Here you'll discover not just what women's circles are, but how they can become a wellspring of support, growth, and transformation in your own life.
We believe that when women gather with intention, magic happens. Stories are witnessed, burdens are shared, celebrations are magnified, and the collective wisdom of the feminine rises to meet whatever challenges or joys we face.
Our vision is to see women coming to circle being as commonplace as attending a yoga, or spin cycle class!
Welcome, sister. Your presence here is no accident - you are exactly where you need to be.
From ancient gatherings around open fires, to the whispered wisdom shared among grandmothers, and the joys of a celebration, the essence of the women's circle has remained constant: a place for women to see and be seen, hear and be heard, without judgement or agenda. For millennia, women have gathered in circles, creating sacred sanctuaries for support, learning, and celebration.
In indigenous cultures worldwide, women's circles were integral to community life, serving as vital sanctuaries for rites of passage, healing, storytelling, and the passing down of essential knowledge, rituals, and traditions. These circles provided emotional and practical support during childbirth, times of grief, and periods of celebration. They were places of refuge, empowerment, and profound sisterhood, where women could replenish their spirits and find strength in their power.
Today, while the forms and rituals may have evolved over time, the core need for these nurturing sanctuaries persists, or is perhaps more needed, in our modern world. In a society that often encourages isolation and competition, women's circles offer a vital antidote, reconnecting us to our own individual innate wisdom and the collective strength of womanhood.
The Circle of Us continues this sacred tradition, creating modern sanctuaries where women can experience this same profound connection and support that has sustained our sisters for generations. We want the practice of us gathering in circle to become a part of every individual's life.
Our vision is to build this site and community to host not only our own circles and events, but as a hub for all circle facilitators and providers to utilise so the word, and works, of circle can ripple out through all communities and all corners of the world.
Participating in a women's circle offers a wealth of benefits that can ripple through every aspect of your life:
Belonging and Connection: Combat feelings of isolation and experience the deep comfort of true acceptance with a supportive sisterhood.
Safe Space for Expression: Find a non-judgmental environment to share what your heart wants to voice, your triumphs, challenges, and vulnerabilities.
Silence is Enough: For the times when speaking is beyond your spectrum of contribution, know your presence is enough, providing witness to another woman’s words.
Personal Growth and Self-Discovery: Gain new perspectives, insights, and tools for navigating life's complexities as you learn through deep listening to the shared wisdom of the circle.
Emotional Support and Healing: Receive empathy, understanding, and comfort through silent acknowledgement during difficult times, and celebrate your joys with those who truly uplift you.
Empowerment and Confidence: Discover your inner strength and voice as you witness and are witnessed by other powerful, present women.
Mindfulness and Presence: Step away from the demands of daily life and connect with your inner self in a nurturing and intentional space and unhurried time.
To ensure our Circles remain a truly safe, supportive, and transformative experience for all, we ask every member to acknowledge and accept the following agreements at the opening of each circle:
Confidentiality: What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. This is paramount to building trust and creating a truly safe space and is non-negotiable.
Respect and Non-Judgment: We honour each woman's unique journey, beliefs, and perspectives. We listen with an open heart and refrain from offering unsolicited advice, opinion, or judgement.
Active Listening: We commit to listening deeply to one another, offering our full presence without interrupting, and fully listening while others are speaking.
Speak Your Truth: We encourage honest and authentic sharing from the heart. Share only what feels right for you, knowing that your truth is valuable and welcome. As is also your silence, if that is what speaks for you in that moment.
"I" Statements: When sharing, we speak from our own experience using "I" statements (e.g., "I feel..." "My experience is...").
No Fixing or Rescuing: Our role is to witness and support, not to fix, advise, or rescue. We trust in each woman's inner wisdom to find her own solutions.
Come as You Are: There is no need to pretend or perform. You are welcome with all your imperfections, joys, and struggles. And your presence is just as important as your sharing, so if silence is all you bring, that is also most welcome.
